FIFA partners with Modex for Saudi Club World Cup 2023 digital collection

On December 12, FIFA+ Collect is set to introduce an innovative dual digital collectible in anticipation of the FIFA Club World Cup Saudi Arabia 2023™, marking the inaugural release of its collaboration with tech firm Modex.

In the initial release, FIFA Collect+ will offer 100 digital collectibles on December 15, showcasing the rare items with the opportunity to secure tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final™, per the latest information shared with Finbold.

A further 900 digital collectibles will be released on the Polygon network, accessible through the OpenSea platform, scheduled for launch on December 19 as the FIFA Club World Cup reaches its peak. This collection will encompass memorable tournament moments and digital renditions of memorabilia.

Set to commence in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on December 12, the Club World Cup unites seven of the globe’s top football teams. Manchester City will be accompanied by clubs representing various major football regions, including Fluminense (Brazil) and Auckland City (New Zealand). The group of seven is rounded out by Japan’s Urawa Reds, León (Mexico), Al Ahly (Egypt), and the local club Al Ittihad.

An innovative partnership

FIFA Chief Business Officer, Romy Gai, said:

“Since launching, the platform has been immensely popular worldwide, and fans from all countries now have the opportunity to own a piece of football history. These new launches, both this year and beyond, will provide football fans with a unique and innovative way to connect with the sport while also contributing to the growth of the digital collectibles market.”

Modex CEO, Francesco Abbate, added:

“The FIFA Club World Cup promises to be an exciting 10 days, and with the release of collectibles that can secure actual FIFA match items and FIFA World Cup Final access, there’s an added incentive for fans to participate. Digital collectibles increase the ways in which fans can interact with their favorite players, teams, and the game they love, and we’re honored to support FIFA in realizing this goal.”

The partnership between Modex and FIFA aims to showcase the advantages of Web3 technology, emphasizing its potential to enhance engagement and broaden fan participation opportunities.
